Knights of Columbus Support For
for the elderly and vulnerable of St Mary’s Parish
, who may need assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic from members of the Dr. John Henry Griffin Council #2293 of the Knights of Columbus are. The scope of support includes the pickup and delivery of grocery items and other basic needs for those who are unable to do so.
How to Request Assistance follow these 5 steps
Call, or text the Knights of Columbus Council 2293 Assistance Hotline at 240-320-3822.
Provide your name, phone number and address.
Provide a list of the items requested. Note: All requests should be limited to basic necessities as supplies may be limited for an extended period of time.
Provide details as to how the deliveries are to be made, i.e., if they are to be left at the door or at a certain location so as to minimize contact to the extent possible.
Have cash or check available to reimburse the Knight who deliveries your groceries. They will give you the receipt. Leave cash/check in your mailbox/doorframe/under a welcome mat to avoid contact.
Deliveries will be made as soon as possible by Knights from Council 2293 based on the agreed upon instructions discussed when the assistance is requested. A call will be made to the recipient when the delivery is on the way and the total cost of the items will be conveyed during the call so that any necessary preparatory/cost reimbursement actions can be taken. If the requested items are not available, a call will also be made to the individual making the request to inform them.
While every effort will be made to assist those in need, as conditions change and additional precautionary restrictions are put in place by federal, state and local authorities to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, this support may not be available.
